This was a commissioned pet illustration for a client that was truly a labor of love.
I created this digital painting as a gift for the father and husband of a family who recently lost their family dog, Piper. I was honored when they selected me to memorialize their beloved pet in such a way. When he received it as a gift, he was overcome with emotion. It is rare to be a part of something so special. It’s so hard losing a beloved pet.

Different Iterations
There were two previous illustrations before the final illustration was signed off on. The first shows Piper with a playful background of sprinkled paint and the leash lead. The second shows the final background, but still has the leash lead in it. The final illustration is closer to the second idea, but the clip has been removed.
