A newly discovered passion

In early 2017, I discovered a passion for papercraft. I’ve never experimented with this type of art form beyond bookmaking in college. Honestly, I never thought of it. Some of the artists that I follow on Instagram have started dabbling in it, and I decided to take a stab at it. While I’m really new at this type of creative work, I am constantly learning new techniques and challenging myself to push the boundaries of experimentation.

Creating these pieces takes a lot of time and patience. I start out by illustrating the forms on my computer, printing them out in reverse, and transfering those images to the pieces of construction paper. Then, using an X-acto knife, I carefully hand-cut each piece and assemble together with a variety of adhesives.
